Anyone looking for a cheap/utilitarian display option for auto items...OK, toys and books, let’s be real...should check out the IKEA pick up I made over this past weekend. I assembled it after work last night with the aid of a couple of Stone Pale Ale 2.0’s.

Metal cabinet with actual glass doors/sides for $99

Not bad!

I don’t own a single piece of furniture that I didn’t assemble myself. Most is from Ikea, but I have some metal garage shelves (repurposed as book/display shelves) from Target. This looks much better than those, though!

Thanks! They had much more expensive options available but I thought the metal and glass shelving was appropriate for the display contents.

I might have to get one of these for Mrs. blacktruck, she really likes old medical cabinets and this looks close enough to work.

That is actually what I had been hunting for at antique markets for some time. I couldn’t find one that was the right size (or at a price I wanted to pay) and ended up with this instead. It is solid once you have it together and assembly was simple.

Awesome, thanks for the good husband you are about to get me.

EDIT: Yes, they are stupid expensive at antique stores which is why we haven’t bought one yet.

For some reason Kinja was not showing the link before but I just edited the original post and it is showing above. The only downside was it was not available online so I had to drive out to the Burbs early on a Saturday AM to pick one up.
